In partnership with Stean’s Beans, we’re excited to announce a new sustainability focused coffee from the Rwanda Akagera Project.

The Akagera Coffee Project (ACP) works with three cooperatives (Jijuka Muhinzi wa Kawa, IkawaYacu, and COCUCAM) as well as individual farmers, and operates across three washing stations in the North and Eastern parts of Rwanda.
Among its commitments to agricultural innovation, ACP has partnered with World Coffee Research on its farm trials, implemented the addition of Biochar to soil, and participates in Field Farmer School (FFS) activities. This coffee is also fully European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) compliant.
More than 80% of the project’s employees are women, across all levels of the organization, and social programs are emphasized within the project, from supporting cow-to-coffee-farmer initiatives to running its own early childhood education center.
This coffee is a natural process Red Bourbon, planted in rich volcanic soil. We love its punchy, lively berry and black tea notes in a balanced, medium body.
