We’re pleased to offer a new Verdant Reserves coffee with expanded traceability from Guatemala’s Finca Sabanetas.

In the mountain forests of Guatemala’s Santa Rosa region,
Finca Sabanetas has been home to coffee for more than a century. A
multigenerational operation, operations at Finca Sabanetas are now in the hands
of its founders’ great-grandchildren. It’s led by Marco Tulio Doando, who grew
up among its coffee shrubs and carries a love for the plant in his own DNA.

We purchased this coffee through our partners at Walker
Coffee Trading as an example of the sweet, clean, and bright cup profiles coffees
from Guatemala are so widely prized for. Grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil
alongside shady fruit trees, coffee plants at Finca Sabanetas benefit from a
cool, rainy climate.

Coffee is washed and processed at the Transcafe mill in
nearby Barbarena. We find a lively mix of fruit, chocolate, and roasted nut
notes in the finished cup—perfect for drinking black or with milk.
