This is our second Ethiopian decaf collaboration with our great partners at Momos Coffee in South Korea. Momos’ slogan “specialty for all” has elevated both their own brand and specialty coffee throughout Korea. Based in Busan, Momos is also the home of Jooyeon Jeon, 2019 World Barista Champion. She plays an important role in guiding Momos’ direction and remains one of the most respected and influential figures in specialty coffee.
This vibrant coffee was produced at Asgori Washing Station at the Banko Gotiti Village in Gedeb Woreda, Gedeo Zone. Asgori Station is known for promoting sustainable coffee production through shade-grown agroforestry, climate-smart farmer training, responsible cherry selection, and raised-bed drying. The station works closely with surrounding smallholder farmers, while maintaining biodiversity and supporting improved farm productivity and coffee quality.
This coffee is grown at very high altitudes under a shade canopy of false banana and other trees. After harvest it is carefully sorted, then dried on African-style raised beds, frequently turned to ensure uniformity and prevent defects.
The station provides an organized market for high-quality cherries, helping producers access specialty coffee buyers and international markets. Asgori Station also contributes to the local community through support of social projects and local infrastructure. These activities are designed to improve education, quality of life, and access to essential services for coffee-producing families in the surrounding communities. We are pleased to be able to share this meaningful and quintessentially delicious Ethiopian coffee as a Swiss Water® decaf.
