Verdant Reserves: Colombia Huila Reserve
Share
The delicious result of a producer-focused regional program incentivizing quality.
This classically Huila-profile coffee continues our partnership with Cofinet, a decade-old exporter which has made great strides in connecting and supporting smallholder partners across vital coffee-growing regions such as Cauca and Huila. This lot, Colombia Huila Reserve, draws from farmers—typically who work less than two hectares of land—in the municipalities of Isnos, Pitalito, Acevedo, Iquira, Palermo, La Plata, Oporapa, and La Argentina. Growing conditions here, in a mild climate, with trees planted in the Andes’ rich volcanic ash, are known to promote sweet and citrusy coffee profiles.

Harvested coffee is delivered from farms directly to Cofinet’s warehouse in Huila, where it is sorted for quality, cupped, and blended with complementary lots. Farmers are paid promptly, and incentivized for quality. Growers can receive premiums of up to 20% above market prices, giving them a direct financial incentive to improve and sustain cup quality.
We are pleased to share this coffee as part of our Verdant Reserves program, offering quality coffees with increased traceability to roasters at accessible price points.
