We're excited to see people refreshing their take on decaf—so we have, too, with a bright new look and feel. We've also expanded our suite of curated offerings to offer expanded traceability, leaning into the terroir and seasons that make up the rainbow of coffee without caffeine.
As the demand for traceable decaffeinated coffee continues to grow and grow, we decided to give our decaf green coffee offering categories new names to give clarity to the types of traceability and options we provide. In the video above, our Senior Director of Coffee, Mike Strumpf, breaks it all down for you.
Emerald Micro Lots
Our Emerald Micro Lots are what we formerly called the Small Batch Series. These will continue to be traceable, limited-quantity offerings that showcase exceptional and unique flavor profiles. They include super-seasonal coffees like Colombia La Leona Honey, our annual Rwanda women's coffee offering, and more.
Verdant Reserves
Our Verdant Reserves make up a new tier of coffees that also offer traceability but are targeted at profiles and prices that can work for roasters who need a little more latitude. These include coffees like our Smithsonian Bird-Friendly Certified Honduras COCAFELOL (Las Capucas) coffee—a producer we've worked with for more than a decade.
Evergreens and Ferns
And for those seeking year-round offerings of single origins and blends, we have our Evergreens and Ferns, versatile selections available year round with classic characteristics of their origins. You'll find our timeless Swiss Water Espresso and Cascadia Blends here, as well as a host of other coffees from Central America, South America, and Indonesia.
With these new categories, we’re hoping to make it easy so that no one who needs delicious, chemical-free decaf ever has to go without. Cheers!
