Laboratory Technologist

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Ensures, proper maintenance, calibration and trouble-shooting of laboratory and in-process testing equipment such as, but not limited to the HPLC, moisture meters, water activity meters and others;
  • Conducts routine sampling and analysis of raw and incoming, in-process and finished products, processing aids and other testing verifications related to the product or product lines;
  • Assists and/or provides timely interpretation and recommendation on the impact of process changes based on analytical data collected;
  • Assists, support and involve in process control, and trouble-shooting initiatives with Operations and R&D;
  • Promptly conducts and/or prepares quality monitoring reports/information and communicates results to department manager and operations process owners;
  • Upholds and ensures compliance of Food Safety (FSSC 22000) standards, GMP requirements and other Quality standards;
  • Provides in-house training for HACCP, GMP, GLP, Safety and other Food Safety and Quality-related programs to operators, and co-employees;
  • Supports all Food Safety Initiatives assigned such as documentation/updating of SOPs, work instructions, performs internal audit,  and verification of corrective actions to non-conformance in the plant;
  • Handles/investigates customer complaints, holds and incident issues;
  • Other duties as assigned;

Qualifications: 

  • Diploma or degree in Food Science, Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
  • Working knowledge of maintaining HPLC and performance data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to details
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety standards (GFSI: FSSC 22000, SQF or BRC ), HACCP and GMP
  • Adept with hardware and software computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a good team player
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Be flexible with working hours. ( Afternoon shift and weekend shift work is required)
