Process Helper/HACCP Cleaner

Summary:

This is a full time position with duties mainly orientated to sanitation, light maintenance and shut down tasks.

Headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, the Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company (SWDCC) is a premium decaffeinator of specialty green coffee. The process is 100% chemical free using water and our proprietary carbon technology to extract caffeine. This results in green coffee beans that are 99.9% caffeine-free, ready to be roasted by leading coffee roasters and brand owners throughout the world.

Reporting to:

Process Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

-Assists Process Operators and Warehouse Coordinators in their daily duties and cleanup of the process equipment, building and grounds.

-Assists maintenance employees in performing required equipment cleaning and repairs.

-Carries out and documents all required quality assurance tests.

-Performs other related or miscellaneous duties as assigned.

-Operates scissor lift and forklift as required

-Carries out the responsibilities as identified in the Burnaby Quality System and complies with all HACCP and GMP requirements.

-Works in a safe and responsible manner as per the Health and Safety Policies.

-Complies with the Environmental guidelines and procedures of the Burnaby site.

Qualifications:

-Must be able to operate as part of a production team, with minimal supervision, in a continuous process environment.

-Must possess good oral communication skills and written communication skills in order to communicate and document problem areas, operating and quality parameters in an accurate and legible manner.

-Must possess logical and analytical thinking abilities and the ability to stay calm in emergency situations.

-Must possess mechanical and electronic aptitude to troubleshoot and utilize computer and mechanical systems.

-Must be able to read, understand and utilize instrument panels, computer terminals and operating manuals.

-Must be able to lift / move required materials

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience: Food production, chemical manufacturing, oil and gas related experience is an asset as is a valid forklift and scissor lift license

Customer Relationship Specialist

Reporting to:

Customer Relationship Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Applying your strong sales and customer service background, ideally with corporate national and international accounts, you will be working with some of the finest coffee roasters, importers and retailers in North America and the world, handling customer orders, generating sales, building and maintaining customer relationships, participating in our daily coffee cuppings, and providing vital marketing and sales input. You will use your excellent communication skills to handle inbound and outbound calls and electronic communications with customers globally. Availability to travel is important as opportunities will surface for occasional trips to meet customers and represent Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company at trade shows.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have at least two years experience in customer service, sales, food, beverage, restaurant, hospitality and/or specialty coffee industries. An understanding of what it takes to build and maintain customer loyalty with national and international accounts is required. Ideally you possess coffee experience, but if you truly have a passion for coffee and are enthusiastic and results-focused, we will provide training. A post-secondary education with a diploma or degree is highly desirable. Computer proficiency (MS-Word and Excel) and excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
